  28. Welcome to the Programmers Heaven 2 CD-ROM!

  30. This is the follow-up to the Programmer's Heaven CD-Rom from Synchron Data.
  31. This CD-Rom is filled with over 4000 new and different files that are 
  32. useful for today's software and hardware developers.

  34. The \PHEAVEN1 directory contains more information about the Programmers 
  35. Heaven 1 CDROM.

  37. This CD-Rom are produced and published by Synchron and it is marketed

  54. How to install the X-Viewer Windows file browser:
  55. =================================================
  56.  
  57. The X-Viewer is an integrated browser for Windows that lets you view,
  58. copy and search all the files on the CD-Rom.
  59.  
  60. To install the X-Viewer you just have to run the SETUP.EXE program located 
  61. in the root directory on the CD-Rom and then follow the instructions. 
  62. The "SETUP.EXE" software will copy the software to your harddisk and create
  63. program icons for it.
  64.  
  65. If you want to run the software directly from the CD-Rom instead of installing
  66. it on your harddisk, you can start the "XVIEWER.EXE" program located in 
  67. the \EXEC directory.
  68.  
  69. Please check the on-line HELP for more help on how to use the software.

  71. When you have installed the Windows browser, you can access all the files 
  72. on the Programmers Heaven CD-ROM. Just click on the "Programmers Heaven Viewer"
  73. Icon to start the program.

  78. How to install the Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows 95

  81. To install Internet Explorer for Windows 95:
  82. 1. Click the Start menu
  83. 2. Click Run
  84. 3. Type d:\cdtools\ie_95\msie302.exe
  85. (This assumes that your CD-ROM drive is drive D:. If your CD-ROM drive
  86. uses a different drive letter, type that letter instead.)

  89. How to install the Microsoft Internet Explorer for Windows NT4

  92. To install Internet Explorer for Windows NT4:
  93. 1. Open the File Manager
  94. 2. From the File menu, click Run

  113. INSTALLING WINZIP ARCHIVE MANAGER
  114. =================================

  116. The shareware programs on this CD are compressed to save space. They
  117. are stored as either self-extracting EXE files, or in ZIP archive format.
  118. We have provided the latest 32-bit version of WinZip for Windows 95 and
  119. Windows NT, a popular archive management tool. We recommend installing
  120. WinZip before accessing any files on this CD.

  122. To install WinZip under Windows 95:
  123. 1. Click the Start menu
  124. 2. Click Run
  125. 3. Type d:\cdtools\winzip95.exe
  126. (This assumes that your CD-ROM drive is drive D:. If your CD-ROM drive
  127. uses a different drive letter, type that letter instead.)

  129. To install WinZip under Windows NT:
  130. 1. Open the File Manager
  131. 2. From the File menu, click Run

  143. The WinZip install program will configure WinZip and automatically
  144. associate WinZip with archive files (such as ZIP files).

  150. ACCESSING THE FILES USING A WWW BROWSER
  151. =======================================

  153. If you have installed the Microsoft Internet Explorer and WinZip, you 
  154. can now access all the files on the Programmers Heaven CD-ROM.

  157. To access the files via the Internet Explorer:
  158.  
  159. 1. Start Internet Explorer
  160. 2. Click the File menu
  161. 2. Click on Open
  162. 3. Type d:\main.htm
  163.  
  164. (This assumes that your CD-ROM drive is drive D:. If your CD-ROM drive
  165. uses a different drive letter, type that letter instead.)

  168. The main menu for the Programmers Heaven CD-Rom will then appear in your 
  169. Web browser's window. Use your mouse to access the desired sections 
  170. of the CD.

  172. If the file you selected is stored in ZIP format, Internet Explorer will
  173. automatically send the file to WinZip, where you can extract its contents
  174. to the directory of your choice (view the WinZip Help file for more
  175. information on managing ZIP files).
